Company data licensing / Guide
Can your company sell data for AI training?
Sometimes. The useful asset is not a random folder of files. It is a rights-cleared record of a repeatable workflow: what happened, what people decided and what followed.
Describe your data Check your data firstShort answer
Data is more likely to qualify when your company controls it, the history is connected and the work is difficult to find on the public web.
Four questions come before file count.
Can it be licensed?
Ownership, customer contracts, employee terms, consent and privacy restrictions matter before usefulness does.
Does it show a complete workflow?
A request linked to the work, decision and outcome is more useful than isolated messages or files.
Does it contain hard-to-find expertise?
Specialist operations, exceptions and judgment can be more useful than common material already online.
Is there enough history?
Buyers need enough comparable cases to train or test a model. The relevant unit is often a complete case, not a file.
AI companies are publicly seeking data beyond the open web.
OpenAI says it is pursuing public and private dataset partnerships, including data that is not readily accessible online. Scale AI publicly offers operational-data partnerships for companies. That establishes a market, but it does not establish a price for any particular archive.
Look for records that preserve how work actually happened.
Email and internal messages
Support tickets and resolutions
Documents and linked attachments
Project histories and approvals
CRM records and account workflows
Reports, spreadsheets and ERP records
Calls or transcripts with clear rights
Technical and design records

Before you submit.
How much is company data worth?
There is no standard price list. A buyer will look at rights, scarcity, continuity, domain relevance, structure and current demand. A large archive can still have little value if it is fragmented or cannot be licensed.
Does the data need to be cleaned first?
No. Alyron starts with a description of the systems, record types, history and rights. Do not upload records during the first inquiry. Any later transfer, filtering or redaction should be defined in writing.
Is licensing company data legal?
It depends on who owns the records, the contracts and consents that apply, and the personal, confidential or regulated information involved. Those questions must be reviewed for the proposed use. This page is not legal advice.
What should never go in the quote form?
Do not paste messages, documents, customer information, credentials or other record contents. The initial form asks only for categories, rough volume and contact details.
